RED CARPET GREEN DRESS WELCOMES LAKEITH STANFIELD TO ITS 9TH ANNUAL ETHICAL OSCARS FASHION INITIATIVE
Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD) is proud to announce that Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out, Atlanta, Sorry To Bother You, The Girl In The Spider’s Web) will join them for the 2018 Oscars initiative. The critically acclaimed actor will attend the 90th Academy Awards ® in ethical evening wear designed by leading global fashion brands.
Actress, environmental advocate, educator and wife of director James Cameron, Amis Cameron founded RCGD in 2009 and has worked with internationally acclaimed designers each year to dress stars in ethical formal wear and jewelry for the Academy Awards®. Numerous celebrities have stood with RCGD and walked the red carpet in the name of sustainability including but not limited to Emma Roberts (Scream Queens), Sophie Turner (X-Men, Game of Thrones), Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Gina Rodriguez (Annihilation, Jane the Virgin), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Jake McDorman (American Sniper) and Missi Pyle (Gone Girl).
“This year is extraordinarily special being able to have a remarkable actor to represent us at the Academy Awards,” shares Amis Cameron. “A shift is taking place in our country and more and more people are wanting to do their part bettering the environment and themselves. Our network of designers, talent, and sponsors are all expanding because they are seeing how sustainable living directly impacts our lives in the present and in the future. I am humbled and excited to have Lakeith illustrate ethical high-end fashion at this year’s Oscars.”
Named one of “Hollywood’s rising stars under 35” by The Hollywood Reporter, Stanfield is known for his memorable role as Andrew Logan King, in the critically acclaimed thriller Get Out, currently nominated for four Academy Awards including “Best Picture.” The Atlanta native currently stars as quirky detective ’L’ in Netflix’s Death Note and as Colin Warner in Amazon’s “Crown Heights,” winner of the Audience Award in the Dramatic category at the Sundance Film Festival. Additional credits include War Machine opposite Brad Pitt, FX’s series Atlanta, Oliver Stone’s Snowden opposite Shailene Woodley and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, playing Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton, and as the Civil Rights activist Jimmie Lee Jackson in the two-time Oscar nominated film Selma.
On March 1, supporters from current and past campaigns will gather together in honor of RCGD annual Pre-Oscars party that will be held at a private residence in Los Angeles, supported by Absolut Elyx.
